Silverstar watched silently from the trees. She hoped Lionpaw could caught the vole before it got away. She stayed in the shadows of the trees and quietly crept among there branches. She was impressed about Lionpaw's speed, he may caught the vole soon.

 The weakened muscles in Lionpaw’s back limb prevented him from chasing after his prey at any great speed, and so by the time the scent, which he now recognised as belonging to DawnClan, came to his attention the vole had already disappeared into the undergrowth and the young apprentice was merely chasing shadows.
The ginger-furred tom cast a quick glance at his Leader over his shoulder, he could see that the she-cat had been following him at a leisurely pace; Lionpaw hoped that she was too far away to notice the scent had disappeared. The young tom had a keen sense of smell and Silverstar was positioned downwind, due to these circumstances it would be surprising if his mentor would notice the lack of scent.
After much determined tracking Lionpaw scented a different kind of prey, it wasn’t one he’d come across and he stopped himself from calling out to Silverstar, the apprentice could question the identity of the creature when he’d caught it.
Once again resuming the hunter’s crouch Lionpaw crept forwards and leapt towards his prey, this time he was successful and his jaws clamped around the creature, his teeth broke through its fresh and the warm blood trickled down his chin.
Feeling pleased with himself he turned to his leader to present the piece of fresh kill, the young cat couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of pride at the idea that this particular creature would help his Clan struggle through another day.

"Good." Silverstar meowed from the tree. She smiled happy to see how well her apprentice was doing. "Now caught one more." Silverstar meowed.

"Then come. Lets get back to camp." Silverstar meowed. She walked back to camp happily.
