Featherkit had been in Pineclan for about a moon. When she first arrived, she explored all over. But now she knows where everything was and there was nothing new. So she decided to go out into the forest. She padded out the entrance and into the woods. She was scared and cautious at first then after about 5 minutes Feather was chasing a butterfly. She stopped when she scented a weird smell. She looked across what was the border between Pineclan and Streamclan, but the orange kit didn't know that. I wonder whats over there? She thought as she was about to go over.

Lightheart was out on a walk. She walked back into camp. She said to those she past by. She headed to the nursery to check up on Featherkit. She was suppost to be taking care of her, making sure she got milk, until she can eat fresh kill. "Feather" She called out, but no answer and her scent isn't fresh. She must be out and around the camp. Lightheart thought and walked around camp asking cats if they had seen her. Nobody has and the blue/grey she-cat was worried. "Mightyoak!" Lightheart cried out. "Were is Featherkit?" She mumbled to herself.

"I thought she was with you. She must have left camp. I will go find. I could still smell that fox." Mightyoak meowed. He ran out of camp, worried for his dear kit. The last one that survived, he couldn't let her die from a fox attack, if it was to attack. "FEATHERKIT!" Mightyoak yelled. He couldn't help it. His dear kit was out there. He then saw out of the corner of his eye, orange fur. The fox or Featherkit. He went through, it was Featherkit. "Featherkit, there you are. You can't leave camp, you must ask someone if you can or if they think it is okay. We better go, Streamclan won't want us here." Mightyoak meowed. He licked Featherkit.

Feather turned around and saw her father. "Hi daddy. Why won't they like us? I'm sure they won't be mad, we aren't doing anything. Everybody likes me." She smiled. "Whats Streamclan?" She asked. She looked over. It looked pretty, then she saw a stream. "Wow!" She exclaimed and started to walk over to it.

"That is there territory. If you cross it they will notice. If a patrol comes I can't fend them off. Come on Featherkit, lets go home." Mightyoak meowed. He picked up Featherkit and began to walk from the border.

Featherkit wailed. She squirmed and got out of her father's grip. "No." She said. Then she remembered that she had to ask him something. "Why were you out the other night. I didn't notice you go out but I saw you walk back in when I woke up in the middle of the night because I had a nightmare that the fox that killed mommy was after me."

"I will have to tell you another day. I will show you, but not yet. You have to be pateint okay Featherkit. Then you will get to know everything, I promise. I cross my paws and hope to die." Mightyoak meowed. He would tell her, but not until Specklepelt could bring Featherkit's hafe-siblings. Then Featherkit could come along.

"No! Tell me now! Mommy and me never had any secrets, so we shouldn't either. And don't say that you hope to die!" She wailed. "I want mommy!" She said and started walking across the border and sat down.

"Honey it is an exspression, when I say hope to die, it means you can be as angry as you want. I want to wait a little while, but I will tell you now. I met another cat and she is having my kits. I promise you will even get to meet her. Please, don't get angry. I will never keep a secret from you." Mightyoak explained. He felt tense, if Featherkit got killed, he would never sleep again if possible.

"Angry? I'm not angree, I'm upset!" Featherkit began to tear up. "You forgot about me and mommy and went off with another cat! Didn't you love mommy? Was she so bad that you went and found a new cat?!" Feather started crying and ran off back into Pineclan territory and into the trees leaving her father. She hid in her old hidding spot that no one about but her and her mother. It still had her mother's sent. "Oh mommy I miss you." She whispered and lied down in her old nest and fell asleep.

"Featherkit, Please don't go!" Mightyoak called. Tears began to form in his eyes, worried about the last thing that reminded him of Sage. "Featherkit, I loved Sage, but you must understand. I needed someone that would love you. She is a young queen. I didn't know that you would be so upset. I promise, you may not love her more then Sage, but your bond to like her. Please I am sorry." Mightyoak meowed running after her. "I am sorry." He repeated. Tears frew from his eyes.

Featherkit heard her father. He was right, she wasn't going to lover her more than her own mother. But she might like her. She stayed where she was, not moving an inch.

"I am sorry." Mightyoak kept repeating. He didn't know what to do. He loved Featherkit, his only memory of Sage. He loved Sage, and when he first saw Specklepelt he fell for her beauty and her personality and other features.

Featherkit finnaly came out from her hiding spot. Her head was sticking out from the bushes.

Mightyoak looked up and saw Featherkit. "Oh Featherkit, I am sorry. She is really nice I promise, and she will not harm you I will make sure no one does." Mightyoak meowed. He walked towards Featherkit. Tears still came from his eyes.
