Smokepaw training

[Waterclaw]

Waterclaw paced to Smokepaw's nest. "Smokepaw! Come on let's go hunting." Waterclaw said as she waited for Smokepaw to follow her.

[Smokepaw]

Smokepaw trailed behind her mentor. Hopefully she would catch on to the hunting thing fairly quickly.

[Waterclaw]

"So Smokepaw, do you already know how to hunt? Or shall I need to teach you?" Waterclaw asked as she started walking quickly. "Never mind, I think you know how to hunt. Let's go over by the stones." Waterclaw said as she led her apprentice to the stones. 50 words and up please

[Smokepaw]

Smokepaw nodded, blinking in the early morning light. She was an okay haunter, but her skills need to become sharper than her claws. "What are we hunting today Waterclaw?" Smokepaw asked. He gray fur was a mess, but the prey really didn't mind. Smokepaw was still rather drowsy, wishing she could be curled up in her nest, still sleeping. The sdjustment from the free rogue life was taking a toll on her physically.

[Waterclaw]

"Lets try some birds or whatever we find on the way." Waterclaw said leading her apprentice to the stones. Then she spotted a mouse eating a nut. She pointed in it's way signaling smokepaw to try.

[Smokepaw]

Smokepaw nodded and got into stalking position. Her paws pushed lightly off the ground. She stumbled slightly and the mouse lifted it's head. She held perfectly still. The mouse went back to eating. Smokepaw was almost within range. The mouse twitched it's ears. She pounced. With a quick nip the the neck, the mouse was freshkill. "How was that Waterclaw?"

"That was great. This time react a little quicker. Don't hesitate, just go." Waterclaw said to her apprentice. Waterclaw sniffed the air and smelled a squirrel and crouched down. The squirrel was starting to reach for a nut and Waterclaw jumped on to the freshkill. "Did you see that? You have to just go. Come on, lets catch a few more before we go back to camp.
