Hello,
I have been wondering this for a bit now and it may sound a trifle silly, but are Scottish clans an entire family? (As this I mean blood related and step...ect.) Or is there an induction into a clan for a person that is not related?
Now this is a complex question. A clan does not mean that all people are really related as uncles, cousins etc., but they have a common history in one region of Scotland.
